New Delhi, December 7: The MCD election results in Delhi drew the loudest cheers from the Aam Admi party. The AAP’s landslide victory in Delhi is a blow to the BJP, which has ruled the legislature for three consecutive terms. At the end of the count, the AAP won 134 seats, the BJP 104, the Congress 9 and the Independents 3.

The election is widely seen as a three-way battle between the AAP, BJP and Congress. Both the AAP and the BJP have expressed confidence that they will emerge victorious in the polls as Congress tries to make up lost ground. More info…
